Seattle Design Festival Installation

2022

Partners: Colin Veileux, Cassidy Forler

Responding to the festival theme of “connection”, Glimpse uses various materials to redefine boundary. Throughout history, walls have always been built to set boundaries and separate people spatially and socially. The rigid structure often resembles authority and power with the intention to keep people away from each other. However, what if, instead of dividing, walls can function as a means to connect through materiality?
All fabrics are repurposed from different places in Seattle, including construction sites and second-hand art material stores. Glimpse transformed rigid walls with various textiles that responded to the surroundings and movements. As the weekend progressed, the form ebbed and flowed with air, sunlight, and the audience.
